Event Entry and Ticket Scanning

TicketFlo is used by many different event organisers, and entry procedures may vary from one event to another. While the information below applies to most events, we recommend checking your event information or contacting the event organiser if you're unsure about any entry requirements.

Before You Arrive

To help ensure a smooth entry, we recommend that you:

  • Have your ticket ready before reaching the entry gates.
  • Increase your screen brightness if using a digital ticket.
  • Ensure your phone has sufficient battery for the duration of the event.
  • Arrive early, particularly during busy entry periods.
  • Bring any identification or supporting documentation required by the event organiser.

If you've added your ticket to your mobile wallet, you can simply open your wallet pass when you reach the entry point.

Ticket Scanning

At the event entrance, present your ticket to event staff for scanning.

Depending on the event, your ticket may be presented as:

  • A QR code.
  • A barcode.
  • An RFID wristband, card or other wearable.
  • A mobile wallet pass.

Once your ticket has been successfully validated, you'll be granted entry in accordance with the organiser's admission policy.

Multiple Tickets

If you've purchased multiple tickets, each attendee may need their own ticket scanned individually.

Some events allow tickets to be transferred to other attendees before the event, while others require the original purchaser to be present. Check your event information for the organiser's requirements.

Cashless and RFID Events

Some events use RFID wristbands, cards or other wearables instead of scanning a ticket each time.

These wearables may be used for:

  • Event entry.
  • Re-entry (where permitted).
  • Cashless food and beverage purchases.
  • Merchandise purchases.
  • Access to restricted areas or VIP zones.
  • Other event-specific activities.

If your event uses RFID technology, the organiser will provide instructions on how your wearable is issued and used.

Re-Entry

Not all events allow patrons to leave and re-enter.

If you intend to leave the venue during the event, check the event's re-entry policy before exiting. Some events require your ticket or wearable to be scanned when leaving and again when returning.

If Your Ticket Won't Scan

If your ticket cannot be validated:

  • Confirm you're presenting the correct ticket.
  • Increase your phone's screen brightness if displaying a digital ticket.
  • Avoid cracked screens or screen protectors that may interfere with scanning.
  • Have the ticket confirmation email available if requested.
  • Speak with event staff, who can assist in verifying your ticket.

Event-Specific Requirements

Every event is different. The organiser may have additional entry requirements, including:

  • Minimum age restrictions.
  • Identification checks.
  • Bag inspections.
  • Prohibited items.
  • Dress codes.
  • Entry time restrictions.
  • Conditions relating to VIP or restricted access areas.

These requirements are determined by the event organiser, not TicketFlo.

If you have any questions before attending, check the event description, your confirmation email or the organiser's website. If the information isn't available, contact the event organiser directly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a screenshot of my ticket?

Some events accept screenshots, while others require a live ticket or mobile wallet pass. For the best experience, open your ticket directly from TicketFlo, your email or your mobile wallet. Some events also accept a printed ticket.

What if my phone battery goes flat?

If your ticket is only stored on your phone, you may not be able to gain entry. We recommend arriving with a fully charged device or checking whether your event offers alternative entry options.

Can I enter after the event has started?

This depends on the event organiser. Some events permit late entry, while others close entry after a specified time.

Who should I contact if I have questions about entry?

TicketFlo provides the ticketing platform, but entry policies are determined by the event organiser. If you're unsure about entry conditions, accessibility, prohibited items or venue-specific rules, refer to the event information or contact the event organiser directly.
